    Position Summary

    This incumbent is primarily responsible for supporting the Director with periodic financial reporting and payments of royalties to participants. The Manager will interpret various licensor and customer agreements to translate the terms to financial statements; accurately prepare periodic financial statements and payment requisitions within the specified deadlines; perform any reporting and payment related coordination and follow-up activities. The ideal candidate will assist in managing positive relationships with external as well as internal clients.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze and interpret legal documents with respect to financial reporting requirements
    • Setup financial statements for new acquisitions and productions
    • Prepare periodic financial statements for acquired and produced assets – with accuracy, clarity, and compliance to contractual terms
    • Liaison with external and internal clients to address and resolve queries and/or issues related to statement and payments
    • Track and update work process as projects are assigned
    • Accomplish assigned tasks timely and contribute to the team as necessitates
    • Perform additional analysis and assist in process improvement projects as required

    Key Competencies

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCY & ATTRIBUTES:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications; especially Excel – pivots, lookups, and various formulae
    • Demonstrate solid analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to adapt to and learn new skills
    • Bilingual (English/French) an asset

     

    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

     

    • 5 to 7 years working experience in same or similar capacity
    • Strong understanding of revenue accounting and royalties reporting is a must
    • College diploma or University degree in Accounting or Finance is an asset
    • Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
    • Ability to work unsupervised, efficiently and effectively as part of a team and independently
    • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and manage pressure constructively
