    Position Summary

    Based in LA and working mainly in the offices of Renegade83 and eOne US Reality, the Director, FPA is responsible for overseeing the financial planning and business partnering at Renegade83, Whizz Kid Entertainment and US Reality, as well as liaising with local management and the parent company finance team in Toronto.  This person will ensure timely analysis of financial statements and cash reports and management of ongoing monthly and quarterly reforecasts, annual budgets, long range plans, and other financial forecasting requirements. 


    The incumbent shall also be responsible for ensuring adherence to financial policies, procedures and internal controls while working closely with business management to provide insightful financial support and analysis and leveraging convergent and best practices across the non-scripted businesses.


    The Director, FP&A will work as a liaison between the finance team and production  accounting teams, have an insight on the local production accounting, processes and timelines. 


    Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting:

    • Working with key senior management and VP Planning, Television, prepare monthly quarter end projections and quarterly forecasts, as well as annual budget and three-year plans with accompanying presentation decks
    • Track performance to budget on a title by title basis
    • Research variances in budgets and forecasts and provide commentary as required
    • Participate in senior finance meetings, preparing and presenting relevant documents, reports and plans in a timely manner

    Financial Statement Analysis

    • Investigate and explain variances in actual to budget or forecast reporting
    • Manage and prepare operating cash flows on a weekly basis for Toronto treasury team
    • Assist in monitoring and ensuring appropriate financial controls around development spend and other financial activity based out of eOne’s corporate LA office
    • Investigate and explain variances in actual to budget or forecast reporting
    • Monitor the develop spend and reporting at each of the non-scripted entities

    Key Competencies


    • Professional accounting designation (CPA / CA, CGA, CMA) required and an undergraduate degree
    • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and management experience required
    • Previous experience managing a team of finance professionals
    • Previous experience reporting into parent company and other related entities in different time zones
    • Television Production accounting experience an asset
    • Effective written and oral communication skills with individuals at all levels
    • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment under pressure with tight deadlines, while simultaneously handling multiple projects
    • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
    • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability
    • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
    • Excellent teamwork, collaboration and team building skills


    Technical Competencies

    • Strong technical accounting skills; knowledge of accounting theory and practices, of GAAP, and IFRS
    • Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Office – Outlook, Word, strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups etc)
