    Position Summary

    Position:             Director, Corporate Communications (14 month contract)

    Reporting to:     SVP, Corporate Communications

    Location:            Toronto

     

    Summary

    The Director, Corporate Communications is charged with managing and implementing eOne’s global communications efforts, with a focus on internal communications initiatives and events.  

    Responsibilities

    • Manage research and writing activities on behalf of C-suite executives for both internal and external communication materials, including newsletters, intranet, social media, marketing materials, press releases, internal employee advisories, website, speeches, briefing notes, award submissions, public policy submissions
    • Monitoring and communication of eOne’s presence in traditional and online media
    • Monitor industry news as well as relevant government policy announcements, and keep team briefed on relevant industry developments
    • Working closely with SVP, Corporate Communications, manage internal communications planning (eg. structural announcements, new hires, etc), acting as first point of contact in Toronto office for any internal communications counsel
    • Work cross-functionally with executive team, HR and IT on internal announcements and corporate communications campaigns, as required
    • Content development and executive briefing for company town halls and regional meetings, and other corporate meetings
    • Lead logistics planning and execution for town halls and regional meetings
    • Lead concept development, outreach, compilation, copyediting, approval and distribution of monthly staff newsletter, eOne Connect
    • Working alongside HR, champion employee engagement by acting as central liaison for eOne Community social and charitable groups
    • Working alongside Senior Manager, Events, develop, manage and execute corporate sponsorship requests, as well as charitable, client-facing and internal events
    • Act as brand ambassador – and encourage consistent messaging and use of corporate brand
    • Think outside the box to develop innovative ideas and content to drive internal stakeholder engagement across the organization
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Key Competencies

    • 7+ years professional experience in Communications/Public Relations
    • 3-5 years of experience within the film, TV or music industries
    • Proven track record of acting as a communications advisor through demonstrating an understanding of key business drivers, communications knowledge and judgment
    • Demonstrated expertise in managing integrated internal and external communications programs
    • Demonstrated success with corporate storytelling and business media in Canada and United States
    • Experience with issues management, crisis communications and reputation management
    • Strong media relationships in North America and a strong understanding of the entertainment landscape.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and strong presentation skills
    • Skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint

     

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in marketing, public relations/communications, or journalism
