    Position Summary

    A 12 month fixed term contract management position within the UK Film finance team of the UK’s largest independent film distributor. A commercially focused role with full responsibility for Profit and Loss, Balance sheet and Cashflow for Budgeting and forecasting.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Head of FP&A supporting UK Film Distribution MD with decision making alongside the two Business Analysts and managing two Financial Analysts. Responsibility for Budgeting and Quarterly forecast submission to FTD Division and Group reporting. Including responsibility for Budgeting and Planning for the newly launched German Film Business.

     

    Budgeting and Forecasting

     

    • Dissemination of guidelines and deadlines for preparation and submission of official Forecasts and Budgets
    • Management of Budget and Forecast process
    • Liaison with Business Analysts, MD and Head of FP&A to build Budgets and Forecasts
    • Preparation of full film distribution Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet and Cashflow
    • Preparation of presentation deck for Budget and forecast for submission to FTD Division and Group reporting
    • Inter-company reporting and confirmation of balances including reporting of multi territory titles
    • Load of Budgets and Forecasts to Group Finance and local accounting systems
    • Analysis and scenario building for risks & opportunities to Budget/Forecast

     

    Commercial Reporting

     

    • Sensitivity Analysis before, after and during release of titles theatrically
    • Prepare monthly outturn with information from Business Analysts and commercial heads.       Monthly outturn is used to aid commercial decision making and pass to management accounting team to prepare the Flash on WD4
    • Preparation of regular risk and opportunity reporting
    • Preparation of monthly Film and HE ultimates packs and presentation to MD, Head of FP&A for periodic sign off in line with requirements of group controls
    • Manage the Film pack holding ultimate revenue estimates for all titles and reviewing monthly actuals entered by Finance Analysts
    • Building models and analysis to interrogate ultimates and provide management with options
    • Ensure integrity of acquisition control documents and recommend changes to MD, FD
    • Development of key KPI’s and identification of main drivers and trends
    • Collection and roll up of ultimates relating to multi-territory titles

     

    Group Finance and Film Division Reporting

     

    • Preparation of reporting to Group and Divisional finance teams and senior executives
    • Preparation of annual library valuation reporting
    • Responding to ad hoc Group and Divisional questions and queries
       

    Additional Responsibilities

     

    • Performing ad hoc project and analysis work
    • Line management of 2 FP&A Analyst’s including motivation, training, setting of objectives and formal appraisal
    • Involvement in audit preparation
    • Assisting the Head of FP&A as well as other Film division HOD’s in other finance related tasks
    • Drive continual process and systems improvement to ensure team is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible

    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Articulate with advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information in a clear and concise way to both a financial and non-financial audience
    • A proactive and responsible attitude to workload, with a propensity to own the key duties of the role and strive for continuous improvement
    • Commercial awareness and appreciation of the core aims of the business and where it sits in terms of markets, products, customers and suppliers
    • Practical knowledge of relevant computer systems
    • ACA / ACCA / ACMA qualified (first time passes preferred) with proven experience working in a similar role
