    Position Summary

    Role: SVP, Corporate Development & Strategy

    Reports to: Chief Development & Administrative Officer


    This role leads the strategic vision of the company, working with business leaders to analyze acquisition opportunities for strategic corporate fit and value creation. The role will work closely with senior leadership across the organization and will be supporting individuals that will lead several high-profile initiatives. This position will support the development and execution of detailed business cases and work plans in collaboration with senior executives across the company, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to complement growth strategies.

    You must have the ability to work in a multi-tasking environment with quick deadlines and have sound presentation and decision-making skills. Attention to detail and ability to assimilate information in a fast-paced environment is essential.


    • Oversee all aspects of the acquisition process including managing the strategic M&A filters, defining the deal structure and negotiating deal terms, overseeing integration activities, working closely with the business sponsor and all corporate functions, to successfully execute M&A transactions
    • Oversee Strategic Initiatives (e.g., reorganizations, major system implementations, etc.) and, in partnering with executive project sponsors, ensure that projects are scoped, resourced, and executed seamlessly
    • Support in ad-hoc analysis for executive and board strategic questions
    • Prepare and present materials to management and the Board of Directors
    • Manage the executive and senior leadership committee agendas

    Key Competencies

    This role requires

    • Strong technical, business and finance acumen within the media industry
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills. Proven team building skills are essential to drive effective decisions making with the appropriate stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Able to convey complex ideas in a strategic and concise fashion
    • Exceptional people skills; ability to engage and influence people across teams
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities
    • Proven client management skills, including ability to interact with and influence senior company executives (SVPs, EVPs, Presidents, C-Level, and Board od Directors)
    • Advanced knowledge of media industry issues and concerns
    • Ability to travel 25% (domestic & international)


    Desired Experience:

    • MBA degree with combined 10+ years of experience as a lead in corporate development and management consulting
    • Demonstrated cross-functional communication and relationship building skills, collaborating with Senior Leadership, C-Level and Board of Directors
    • Established relationships with the investment banking industry as well as other peers in corporate development and Media industry
    • Must have prior M&A deal experience in a similar position with proven record of success
    • Demonstrated experience in building external relationships and leading acquisition from identification to closure
    • Excellent written and communication skills
    • Experience working in a global company is an asset
    • Experience in the Entertainment/Media industry is an asset
