    Position Summary

    The finance manager is a multi-faceted role in the Finance department of the leading independent movie distributor, a subsidiary of a UK based FTSE 500 PLC. This position will play a critical role in the maintenance of the film accounting models, implementation to Prophix, improvement of month end processes, assist in the analysis of the current and historic financial information & annual budgeting and forecasting process.

    Responsibilities

    Month End

    • Manage and maintain various film accounting and royalty models
    • Manage month end close - running & reviewing the film accounting models for royalties payable to the producer and amortization of our asset, provide analysis against the budget/forecast, posting month end entries into Navision, MG accruals etc.
    • Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
    • Preparation of by title analysis and commentary for executive and group reporting, including Gross Margin analysis and Investment in Content
    • Preparation of Quarterly Balance Sheet for management reporting
    • Report on intercompany titles and communicate royalties payable to different eOne business units
    • Assist in the implementation and further development of the SOP models in Prophix

     

    Budget

    • Manage the completion of the budget and/or quarterly reforecast, including cash flow forecasting, upload into Tagetik and completion of various management and group reporting decks and schedules
    • Prepare and review various working schedules feeding into the budget and/or quarterly forecast

     

    Other

    • Assist in further development of various report and analysis tools in Prophix
    • Provide accurate and timely revenue and margin analysis by title and media to help facilitate strategic and operational decision-making.
    • Accomplish tasks on time and contribute to the team by taking on and/or assisting with additional projects as assigned.
    • Manage and develop the Snr. Financial Analyst within the team

    Key Competencies

    Qualifications

     

    • Professional accounting designation is required
    • 5+ years of progressive work experience in finance.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex financial information, draw conclusions and present findings to multiple stakeholders.
    • Attention to detail in all areas of work, good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
    • Able to cope in a fast paced environment under pressure with tight deadlines, simultaneously handling multiple projects. 
    • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
    • Computer literate, especially strong in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups etc)
