Position Summary

The Film Acquisitions Assistant will provide professional, confidential support to the Worldwide Acquisitions team.  As a proven achiever and polished professional, you have exceptional time management and organizational skills.  The successful individual will be resourceful with an energetic demeanour and a proven track of providing outstanding executive assistance.


  • Anticipating needs, performing routine and non-routine tasks
  • Manage preparation for internal and external meetings including conference calls, room bookings, circulating schedules, catering and presentation preparation.
  • Managing and reviewing high level or confidential correspondence; ensuring accuracy and quality of work
  • The individual will proactively provide calendar management, screening requests by priority.
  • Manage travel arrangements and  proactively checking on cancellations or delays to ensure alternate arrangements are made
  • Handle requests and concerns with tact and diplomacy
  • Read scripts and write coverage
  • Attend distributors screenings as needed
  • Update submissions database
  • Liaise with the eOne's direct distribution teams in the UK, Spain, Benelux, Australia, Germany, and Canada.
  • Prep for film markets such as Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, and AFM

Key Competencies

  • 1-2 years administrative experience is recommended but not required
  • Post secondary education in a related field
  • The ideal individual will be highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks under tight time frames, and a self starter who is able to work both independently and function well within a team.
  • The individual will demonstrate strong independent judgment and a high degree of interpersonal effectiveness to be able to deal with stakeholders across various levels both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment where flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential.
  • Relationship builder and able to interact respectfully and confidently with internal executives, executive assistants and external contacts.
  • Ability to manage efficiently in a multi- tasked environment and ensure deadlines are met by prioritizing work flow.
  • Demonstrated discretion and confidence dealing with highly sensitive matters.  

Technical Competencies

  • Exceptional in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong dictation and typing skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
