Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity join a well-established small team in our Melbourne office.  You will be responsible for brand licensing management of all consumer product categories, including hardlines, softlines & FMCG categories across all our Family Brands.


Licensing Management

  • Brand licensing management of all consumer product categories, including hardlines, softlines & FMCG categories
  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the licensing business & plan across the ANZ portfolio, including acting as the key point of contact for all licensee and retailer enquiries
  • Development, management & execution of yearly licensing & sales plans in conjunction with the GM
  • Work with licensees & partners to determine appropriate product & category sales plans, including monitoring sales performance, product sell-thru and range plans
  • Ongoing review of overall licensee and product performance; keeping an eye on competitor activity
  • Review & approve all licensee/partner product rollout and range plans
  • Conduct regular/quarterly business reviews with all licensees
  • Determine and monitor product distribution & timelines for each licensed category
  • Develop a yearly new business strategy and establishing appropriate retail strategy in conjunction with GM


New Business Development

  • Proactively explore new business development & negotiation of new licenses and contracts
  • Investigate and develop new licensed partners & product opportunities across all brands, including development and maintenance of brand gap analysis to identify appropriate new category opportunities
  • Presentation of new product / category opportunities to potential licensees/partners and retailers
  • Research untapped growth, as well as initiating and executing new categories and licenses to build the brands and/or drive volume.



  • Manage & develop current & new/potential retail relationships including (but not limited to) independents, specialty, mass market, grocery & department and online retailers
  • Development, management and implementation of retail strategy in conjunction with the GM
  • Source & develop new channels of distribution (according to approved retail strategy).
  • Develop retail partnerships and product/promotional plans for brands (in conjunction with Marketing Manager).
  • Investigate preferred and recommended suppliers
  • Conduct regular retailer updates and meetings. Update buyers, product and marketing teams on current business, forward plans, new partners & products and general brand activity (in conjunction with Marketing Manager)
  • Present product and promotional opportunities, including new category opportunities and catalogue planning
  • Conduct frequent market visits to ensure execution of all brand activity & competitor analysis



  • Manage FY Financial plans and regular forecasts requirements in conjunction with the GM
  • Ongoing review and analysis of financial performance of licensed business / licensees. Ensure sales and income is maximized and reaching full potential
  • Prepare and manage financial budgets per brand
  • Manage and report all incoming royalties and payments in conjunction with coordinator
  • Follow up outstanding monies where required, in conjunction with coordinator


  • Manage all active licensing agreements, and negotiation of new licensing agreements and renegotiation of contracts & amendments
  • Contract negotiation - Negotiate product categories, retail distribution, royalty rates, payment schedules (including advance & guarantees) and all other aspects as required
  • Key liaison with legal to amend, update, and terminate business agreements
  • Ensure contract compliance

Key Competencies

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years licensing management experience
  • Able to work both as part of a small team and as well as independently, demonstrating initiative
  • Skilled at multi-stakeholder management and a strong ability to juggle various tasks
  • Solid financial acumen
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to travel when required
