Position Summary

Position: Senior Financial Analyst

Reporting to: Manager, Financial Analysis

Location: Toronto, Ontario

 

Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A is a multi-faceted role in the Finance department of the leading independent Movie distributor, a subsidiary of a UK based publicly traded company. This position will play a critical role in the maintenance of the film accounting models, implementation of various models to Prophix, improvement of month end processes, assist in the analysis of the current and historic financial information & annual budgeting and forecasting process.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Month end process by running the film accounting model for royalties payable to the producer and amortization of the asset
  • Maintain various royalty models and owning the related monthly process
  • Booking month end entries to Navision and preparing detailed model reconciliations
  • Assist in the implementation and further development of the film accounting models in Prophix
  • Assist in further development of various report and analysis tools in Prophix
  • Provide accurate and timely revenue and margin analysis by title and media to help facilitate strategic and operational decision making.
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of the monthly analysis and reporting packs for the various business units
  • Report on intercompany titles and communicate royalties payable to different eOne business units
  • Assist in the completion of various analysis during budget and quarterly reforecast, as well as various investment in content (IIC) and royalty schedules
  • Provide various ad-hoc financial analysis such as IIC, and Life to date performance for films
  • Accomplish tasks on time and contribute to the team by taking on and/or assisting with additional projects as assigned.

Key Competencies

  • Professional accounting designation is required
  • 3-5 years of progressive work experience in finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse complex financial information, draw conclusions and present findings to multiple stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work, good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Able to cope in a fast paced environment under pressure with tight deadlines, simultaneously handling multiple projects. 
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Computer literate, especially strong in Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups etc)
  • Experience with Navision and/or Prophix considered an asset
