Position Summary

Position:              Corporate Communications Assistant


Reporting to:     Manager, Corporate Communications


Location:             Toronto



The Corporate Communications Assistant is charged with supporting eOne’s global communications efforts, with a focus on the department’s activities at the Toronto headquarters.  



  • Support research and writing activities for both internal and external communication materials, including newsletters, intranet, social media, marketing materials, press releases, internal employee advisories, website, speeches, briefing notes and policy submissions
  • Assist with corporate social media efforts and copywriting, including Yammer, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Support monitoring and communication of eOne’s presence in traditional and online media
  • Monitor industry news as well as relevant government policy announcements, and keep team briefed on relevant industry developments
  • Track corporate announcements & events and support internal communications efforts by working with Manager to keep eOne teams educated and informed on a regular basis (i.e. Yammer, intranet, email updates, etc)
  • Institute effective processes for sharing information across the department and cross-functionally
  • Assist with management and updating of global directory/databases
  • Assist with coordination and servicing of meetings
  • Assist with management of internal communications platforms including intranet and Yammer as well as corporate website
  • Field and direct translation requests
  • Support employee engagement by assisting with coordination of eOne Community groups
  • Think outside the box to develop innovative ideas and content for partner and staff engagement meetings, feedback sessions and networking events
  • Support content development, logistics planning and execution for town halls and regional meetings
  • Support with sponsorship coordination – administration, tracking deliverables, and event support
  • Event coordination support, including for internal company events and client-facing events
  • Assist with video production and project management for internal marketing materials
  • Assist with monthly reporting and collection of articles for company newsletter
  • Lead and implement archiving/filing process for corporate photos and clippings
  • Act as brand ambassador – and encourage consistent messaging and use of corporate brand
  • Manage the updating of corporate branding materials, specifically at the Toronto location
  • General office administration, including filing, approvals, invoices, and expenses
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Competencies


  • Skilled in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • 1-3 years of experience within the film, TV or music industries




  • Strong internal and external communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge and interest in media sector
  • Digital and social media knowledge, including campaign planning and execution expertise 
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Familiarity and competence with MS Office suite of products
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High level of initiative
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Previous experience as an assistant preferred (i.e. experience managing calendars and scheduling meetings)
