Position Summary

Strategic leadership of the global brand management of a portfolio of children’s entertainment brands, planning strategic brand growth globally and providing long term vision for the wider division.


  • Strategic leadership of the global brand management of a portfolio of children’s entertainment brands, planning strategic brand growth globally and providing long term vision for the wider division
  • Management of a small but growing team, currently Global Brand Manager, Global Brand Executive and Global Brand Assistant
  • Working very closely and collaboratively with other key Senior Executives across the division to ensure that brand plans are globally relevant, commercially viable and continue to ensure brand growth for the long term
  • Working very closely with development and production teams to ensure that brand direction for new content / series / format requirements are communicated in a strategic and timely manner
  • Working hand in hand with production teams to ensure that key brand series content, including themes, storylines, seasonal, characters, locations is opportunistic, applicable and relevant to wider brand planning
  • Maintaining detailed work back schedules for all brand element development timings – production, launches, product, commercial, events, digital
  • Working very closely with the global commercial teams at all times to ensure that strategies are aligned and clearly presented internally and externally for both the short and long term
  • Ensuring the timely production of all required brand assets and ensuring that the wider teams fully understand strategic usage and are provided with the tools required to maximise brand exposure, growth and management
  • Collaborating with global marketing functions to understand how strategies and planning can be aligned and shared, ensuring needs and requirements are met globally
  • Developing relationships with key broadcaster contacts and working on alignment of series roll out and key delivery timings with commercial activity UK and globally
  • Ensuring that digital, live events and research teams have everything they need for their own strategic planning and work closely with all teams to ensure that digital, live event content and research is planned and operated in full accordance with brand planning
  • Working closely with legal teams on brand development and protection ensuring all necessary international clearances are in place
  • Overseeing UK marketing activity for managed brands, including brand and UK marketing budgets
  • Strategically developing timely 3rd party partnerships
  • Working closely with internal teams and external agencies across PR, Social and general creative Services
  • Providing strategic series content and briefs for key brand elements to ensure all global brand plans and significant developments are strategically related to series content at all times, e.g., toy development, stage show development
  • Planning long term opportunities across content, formats, brand extensions and providing tangible brand guidelines for all strategies to the wider teamsContinuously evaluating strategies with team members to ensure they remain fit for purpose and adapt approaches quickly where needed
  • Sharing analysis, strategies and success with wider marketing teams, brand functions and other divisions
  • Constantly ensuring that the global competitive landscape is fully researched and understood, monitor brand health and adapt accordingly
  • Safeguard strong communication at all times between functions and teams, identifying any gaps in communication processes and rectifying quickly and efficiently
  • Manage direct reports to ensure they are delivering high quality, strategically relevant and long terms plans, assets and visions across their functional areas
  • Manage, motivate and develop the immediate team members at all levels, ensuring that each individual is achieving their potential and working as effectively as possible
  • Prioritise team member workloads effectively, understand and communicate priorities clearly
  • Regularly identify team development and training needs
  • Undertake regular, effective, collaborative and visionary team meetings
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all eOne Family brands at all times across all relevant functions including and beyond brand and marketing

Key Competencies

  • Significant experience of brand marketing, in a Senior Management role, within the licensing industry
  • Full understanding of the role of brand and marketing within the licensing industry
  • Full understanding of the commercial relationship to marketing and key commercial milestones
  • Exceptional market and competitive knowledge of the brand licensing industry globally
