Position Summary

A highly motivated, energetic and versatile Director of PMO, you will manage Project Managers, have accountability around planning, execution and risk management of the project portfolio, and deliver project/program management on large initiatives. Reporting to the VP, IT Business Solutions, the Director of the Project Management Office provides a centralized approach to improving overall project efficiency by introducing and managing projects through standardized processes.  The Director, PMO manages resources, coordinates project demands and strives to standardize and introduce economies of repetition in the execution of projects to ensure on-time and on budget delivery.


  • Leadership and management of a team, including resource management, hiring, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Responsible for the oversight and reporting of project managers to ensure all projects within IT are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time and cost requirements.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a highly capable team to insure projects use evolving best practices for project delivery.
  • Identify and resolve dependencies, issues and conflicts as needed. 
  • Establish standards for Project Management (monitoring and governance) including processes, appropriate project controls, methodologies, metrics, reporting, and tools.
  • Assess project health and direct corrective measures to ensure project success including escalation to leadership when necessary.
  • Identify and plan resource assignments; prioritize utilization of resources with other functions.
  • Lead and influence the project lifecycle methodology for long‐term strategies, roadmaps and action plans. Be a champion for PMO processes within the team and eager to partner with others to build PMO capabilities across IT.  
  • Create and communicate metrics to measure the effectiveness of programs and processes. 
  • Provide leadership in the constructing of project teams, charters, project plans, contingencies, success metrics and ROI measurements.
  • Provide leadership for PMs to manage all phases of program to success, including initiation, planning, definition, design, development, testing and deployment cycles.
  • Provide portfolio level status reporting to IT leadership team.
  • Program Manage cross functional initiatives
  • Collaborate with IT technical teams to ensure successful delivery of projects.

Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree; in lieu of degree, equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years building, leading and mentoring teams.
  • 10+ years leading major programs/projects in a complex, global corporate setting.
  • Strong business domain knowledge in both the front office and back office.
  • Significant experience shaping and enforcing Project Management methodologies.
  • Proven track record managing a large project portfolio and associated risk management.
  • Superior business communications and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Adaptable
