Position Summary

An exciting opportunity to join a major, global entertainment company and be a part of a growing US team.  Entertainment One is a dynamic organization, active in film distribution, home entertainment and intellectual property licensing.  


The Retail Manager will be responsible for retail development and management of our retail events across all channels of distribution for all eOne Family’s brands in the US. Reporting to the Director of Retail, North America and working with the US licensing team, the Retail Manager will help create unique branded retail programs within the coordinated brand strategy, and educate and motivate retail buyers to support our brand roster and maximize presence at retail.


  • Assist Director of Retail in cultivating, fostering, maintaining and strengthening relationships with secondary retail channels relevant to eOne brands
  • Continually educating the retail community on eOne so we continue to be top of mind and a critical part of their business
  • Identify new retail opportunities – in and out of aisle- to extend our brands’ reach and create incremental space at retail
  • Communicate and coordinate retail opportunities to key licensees’ sales teams.
  • Work with Director of Retail and licensing team to understand licensee relationships with eOne as well as with retailers, the product roll out and launch plans for our properties and licensee’s products offerings as well as any issues from a supply perspective in order to address directly with buyers.
  • Work with Director of Retail, North America to create and deliver tailored retail presentations to pitch to retailers at key time periods
  • Liaise with the wider licensing team and other departments such as International, Marketing/PR, Product Development, Business Affairs and Accounts on a regular basis to share information and ideas
  • Work with the licensing team and Director of Retail on tracking royalty income, financial forecasting and budgeting for all DTR business
  • Monitor and provide analysis of licensees’ retail promotions and competitors’ promotions through regular store visits of all retailers
  • Work in partnership with Director of Retail to brainstorm, set up and implement retail marketing events and promotions that will provide broader support at retail of our brands
  • Coordinate with Director of Retail to develop annual retail-specific roadmap for eOne properties
  • Assist in the management of retail specific budget for US & Canada
  • Work with Director of Retail, North America to support Canadian agent to execute retail development programs and promotions to expand our presence at retail in Canada
  • Regular attendance of trade shows and social industry functions where applicable – including NY Toy Fair and Licensing Show
  • Assist in the preparation of retail partner presentations, licensing trade shows and summits

Knowledge & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in a retail development, buying or marketing role is essential to the position
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area of concentration
  • Knowledge of North American retailers and merchandising opportunities at key channels of distribution
  • Sound organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in sales, retail buying and brand management
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-up
  • Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player who can contribute to a strong and growing business
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is imperative
