Position Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join a major, global entertainment company and be a part of a growing US team.  Entertainment One is a dynamic organization, active in film distribution, home entertainment and intellectual property licensing.   The Licensing manager will be responsible for sales development and management of consumer product lines across specific categories for all eOne licensing entertainment brands. Reporting to the Director, Licensing, Softlines, North America and working with the US licensing team to create a coordinated brand strategy as well as maintaining/ maximizing brand presence and sell-in/sell-through for all entertainment properties.

Key Competencies

  • Responsible for  managing the day to day business for the Softlines CP program (including Apparel, Accessories, Home Décor, Health and Beauty, and Consumer Packaged Goods)
  • Build and maintain relationships with all key licensees and retailers relevant to category management responsibilities
  • Hold regular business update meetings with all relevant licensees and product development teams ensuring that all licensees are adhering to the terms of their contract and brand strategy guidelines
  • Creation and delivery of targeted presentations to pitch, support or launch licensing programs in specific category areas
  • Liaising with the wider licensing team on a regular basis and other departments such as International Licensing, Marketing, Product Development, Business Affairs and Accounts
  • Negotiating deal terms with licensees and managing the contractual process for specific category areas from start to finish liaising closely with the Director of Licensing, Legal and Accounts where necessary
  • Working with Director of Licensing and Licensing coordinator on tracking royalty income and financial forecasting
  • Monitor and provide analysis of licensees retail distribution, retail promotions and competitors ranges through regular store visits of all retail channels with broader licensing and retail teams
  • Work closely with Canadian agent in building the program in Canada including negotiating and securing new licensing and licensed promotions partners
  • Regular attendance of trade shows and social industry functions where applicable –NY Toy Fair ,Licensing Show, Magic, ABC Expo- research applicable trade shows
  • Assist in the preparation and the development of licensee/partner presentations, summits, and trade shows
  • Analyze white space in the market- new products/categories we can enter to expand beyond the current business
  • Monitor competitive properties and keep up to date with industry news

Knowledge & Experience

  • Extensive experience in licensing and/or retail is essential to the position
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area of concentration
  • Sound organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in sales, negotiating deals and business development
  • Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-up
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player who can contribute to a strong and growing business
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications a must
